Space Alert is a team survival game. Players take on the role of a crewof space explorers sent out through hyperspace to survey a dangeroussector of the Galaxy. The game is played alongside one of many 10-minutesoundtracks (on included CDs, downloadable mp3 files, or by scenariocards). During these 10 minutes, the crew must defend the ship fromhostile attacks while it scans the enemy sector. If they succeed, the shipbrings back valuable data. If they fail… it is time to train a new crew.Players do not compete against each other. Instead, they work togetheragainst the challenges presented by the game. The difficulty of the gamecan be chosen by the players themselves. Completing the most difficultmissions requires close teamwork.
